Shipments

July 19 saw 6 pallets (3,362 bags) of our finished product go out with Faith Missions, headed to Ukraine. Over the summer we have received a great variety of vegetables and we are now looking forward to bagging again and filling more requests for product.

Renovations result in new sinks for the cutting room!

During the month of July the plant was shutdown for one week. Along with a couple of small repair jobs, and air conditioning installed in the coffee room/office area, a new set of sinks were installed. Another bank of sinks will enable volunteers to wash up prior to working without all waiting at the existing sinks.

Thanks to all that helped complete this project!

Solar Panels

Two years ago Prairie Gleaners received a very generous donation that was designated to solar panels. The donation will cover the entire cost, so the board is very excited that Terralta Inc. is in the process of installing solar panels which will sit on the south-west corner of our property.

Medicine Hat Stampede 2024 was a great chance for us to connect with people and show them the six steps in our process of “reducing food waste and feeding hungry people”.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

That’s right – these photos were all taken on Wed., Sept. 25th (just three months till Christmas) and we at Prairie Gleaners think that the most wonderful time of the year is HARVEST!!! Praise God for the bounty of the Fall and all of our generous producers.
